The Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) at the University of Mannheim offers
one Postdoc position in social sciences with a focus on methods in political science.

The MZES is an interdisciplinary research institute of the University of Mannheim dedicated to comparative European social research and the analysis of European integration processes. It is Germany’s largest university-based social science research centre.
There is a vacancy in the Centre’s Data and Methods Unit. The responsibilities include the initiation of own research projects and consulting services as well as support for MZES research projects. Services in the field of research on parties and elections in Europe are particularly welcome.
Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. with an excellent dissertation in political science or a related discipline within the last five years. They should have demonstrated their expertise in research on parties and elections in Europe, particularly in peer-reviewed journals. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be public sector pay scheme TV-L E13 to E14 (between 47,700 and 58,500 Euros), with additional employer benefits. The contract is of limited duration as stipulated by the German Act of Academic Fixed-Term Contract (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz), starting preferably June 1, 2018.     
In principle, the position can be shared.
