The Institute of Sociology invites applications for the position of a

Research Fellow (Postdoc, m/f/d) in Social Sciences with focus on Labour Market and Survey Research (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)

starting March 1, 2023. The position is limited to three years.

Responsibilities and duties
The tasks include working in the Horizon Europe project “European Labour Markets Under Pressure – New Knowledge on Pathways to Include Persons in Vulnerable Situations” (PATHS2INCLUDE) in the research group of Prof. Dr. Christian Imdorf. The main task is the implementation of a survey in four European countries together with project partners from Poland, Romania and Norway. In addition, cooperation in work packages with further project partners from Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain is required. The position does not include teaching obligations.

Employment conditions
Prerequisites for employment are a completed academic university degree in the field of social sciences and very good knowledge of survey methodology. Furthermore, a relevant doctorate or Ph.D., knowledge of labour market research and qualitative methods or openness to method integration as well as willingness to further training in advanced social research methods are expected. Advanced English language skills and regular travel within Europe to visit partner institutions and international conferences are required. Experience with factorial surveys and/or qualitative interviews as well as advanced German language skills are desirable. Knowledge of discrimination and/or organisational research as well as Polish or Romanian language skills are a plus.

The position offers many opportunities for further qualification, research, publication, participation in conferences as well as national and international networking with academia and practice. The position is full-time. The salary is based on the Labor Agreement for Public Service (TV-L, Scale 13).
